So, I travelled through to Edinburgh last night for a client meeting. This particular client has opted for all the extras ( Vertical trussing, additional moving heads, Gobo Projection, and possible uplighting etc). So I was keen to impress.
Meeting was at 7pm, but I arrived at 6pm. Plenty of time to kill so I decide to setup the uplighting in the room so he can see exactly how it will look on the night. I thought once he sees it he'll definitely add on that service too.
So, all setup for 7pm. No client. I waited till around 20 past and head out to the car to pickup my phone. On the way out it suddenly dawns on me. Client meeting 7pm Thursday 25th August....I'm a week early. LOL!!!
The client actually wanted to meet this Thursday but I had something else on (which fell through), and for whatever reason I thought the meeting was last night. Now, the client is based in Edinburgh so I gave him a quick call and asked him if he would like to meet this evening. I explained what an idiot I'd been and if he was busy and would prefer to meet as planned next week that would be fine. Thankfully he said he was free and would be along in 10 minutes.
We had a really good laugh about it and it was definitely an ice-breaker. He loved the mood lighting and booked that too!
All's well that ends well. I just thought I'd share what a :muppet: I was. :d
