Hi all,
After joining the forum last Xmas eve I have now done my first gig.
It was for my daughters wedding and went perfectly.
The reason for it going so well was that I listened and acted on all of your advice and read all of the relavant posts and threads so that I was well prepared with the equipment I had purchased and any pitfalls that could have presented themselves. I would like to thank everyone on the forum for their help and advice without which I would have easily failed miserably.
Would it help anyone if I detailed what gear I bought and how I went about assembling a basic proffesional set up ?
I now have a full, up and running set up, complete with back up and all certificates of compliance and will probably hang around the forum as I want to now carry on and do a few proper gigs from time to time.

Well done - I'm not sure I'd want to provide a disco for my Daughters Wedding, but to be the DJ at your daughters Wedding as a first gig. I'm impressed :)

Excellent stuff - pleased to hear everything went well with your first gig - disregarding the fact it was your daughters wedding, it was a wedding, full stop. Not many people have the gojones to take on a wedding first off - respect :D
