looks good, but i still prefer to see all folders and tracks in a file as i can on my 17 inch monitor. this looks a bit limited in that department. i wonder if this would work like a dac controller with pcdj?

I don't think so.

I did ask them about that, and I don't think it would work with the software.

Anyway, it would be defeat the point of the object and be a very expensive way of doing things too.

Until some 4 touch screen monitor with controller (like the DAC models) model of some software/hardware comes out i'll steer away personally, its never appealed to me :S

So these work kinda like an ipod. The mp3,s are stored in the controller unit?
Would be great if the controller could link directly to a monitor though, so as to display more info. The controller makes the DAC 2/3 look a bit cheap and nasty.

No, the Mp3s are stored in any USB device, eg: external drive, flash drive etc etc.

& as it's got 3 ports if you attach a CD ROM drive to it you can also play CDs through it.

if you go to the web site, www.cortex-pro.com click on the pic of the HDC-1000 this takes you into the site then scroll down to under the picture, click on software updates & you can download the database for free. :shade:
you can also create a datedase to burn on to a DVD disc & plug into the unit via DVD-rom (usb) & it will search it as a data base not a cd. Very good as a back up.

just got mine £429 including a 256mb memory stick so im happy supposed to retail at 449 on its own not played with it yet though .......

seems to be taking an age to rip cds onto the pc ??? anyone know why this might be an album is taking about 30 mins to rip ill be here till im 70.
