The Allotment

Finally have an 1/2 plot to grow our own fruit and veg.
The plot is south facing and measures 20ft X 30ft ( this may well be 40ft by the time the brambles have been cleared ) , the rent is £6 per year , mind you , it will take some time and hard work before we can plant anything , it comes with shared access to a big shed , plenty of compost tips everywhere and a water supply , you gotta dig it ...................:sofa:

This is the plot ( well where the plot should be) when we visited it this morning.

A few hours later , a vague shape emerges from the weeds ( no ..not my wife :D )

what happened was , my wife was helping this elderly person dig their allotment , she took 2 days :eek: , little did she know , the gentleman was the chairman. president or what ever you call them , of the allotment association , for some reason he has one and a half plots , he offered the half to us , so we took it. :D

Hopefully that wont happen here , its a climb of 15 steps to get to the woods , 200m walk through the woods before you get to the allotments , that should deter most opportunist thieves.

There is an Allotment at the bottom of our street. My dad has had one for years. Growing fruit and veg and plants on there.

The only way to get an allotment round here is to go on the list and wait til someone dies!! There are a load of allotments out the back of our house that are so popular the average waiting time is 12 years!! :eek: :eek: :eek:
