Just had an enquiry for a wedding next April.
Originally B&G asked a DJ from their clubbing days to do it but as the venue is insisting on ProDub and he doesn't have it (and isn't willing to pay for it) they searched for an alternative DJ who did and found my website (which mentions I have ProDub).
First time ProDub has been asked for and has turned out to be a selling point.
Still need to secure the booking but after a nice chat on the phone with the bride it's looking very promising.
Their tastes are 80's Indie and New Romantic, early Japan and Roxy etc so should be a great night.

Maybe the venues are finally getting a discount on their music licences if they grass-up DJs without one!? Why else would they be bothered?

Not that I'm getting back into the whole do you/don't you but..........You don't need Produb if you download directly to your hard drive!
Is this not a case of the venue not really knowing the difference?

Or use Vinyl, or CD's. ;) ( I think there are still a couple of folk using CD's aren't there? ) :sofa:

Nope - the venue know exactly what ProDub is in this case, and the other DJ definitely required one. And my client had also read up on it to make sure (she asked me all the right questions).

And just how would the venue know that the DJ required Produb?
I use a laptop...and many venues may think I need Produb...but I dont!

To be honest I don't really care - if he couldn't sort it out himself, more fool him :D
(but as I said previously - the venue understands what ProDub is, and so does my client, I've talked to them).

Fair enouh...the thing that really :Censored: me off though is when venues dont know the full extent of it and assume that because I use a laptop, i have to have Produb ;)

How many times have you been asked? This is the first venue that I've come across that's checked.
