So, I'm sitting here listing all the downloads I've bought this year from Woolworths, as there system won't send me receipts for some reason, and it got me to thinking.

What is the most boring part of our business?

Anything vaguely associated can count.

Yeah, loading up for me as well. Especially as i have to move everything from my room on the 1st floor.. down dodgy stairs and through the kitchen :S

just a few for starters...

(1) receiving cold calls from advertising vendors on customer freefone lines
(2) filing
(3) dealing with customers whose fax machines don't work properly
(4) chasing overdue accounts

Definately agree with number 4.

Makes me mad too, when people couldn't give a toss that they're a month late paying...

But is that boring or the worse part of the job?

Got to be getting the accounts ready for the accountant... Finding all those reciepts for all the new kit you've bought... or for fuel, finding the paperwork for the stuff you've sold, listing the in's and outs money.... Hate it Just hate it....

Most of the other stuff to do with running the disco business i dont mind - taking the calls, trying to get the booking confirmed and the deposits, sending out confirmation of booking and music/song suggestions sheet, meeting the clients, site visits. Then finally on the day loading the van, getting there, setting up, doing the gig before packing away and driving home thinking about how the night went....

Most boring part? Simple - when no-one's dancing!

Can't believe no-one mentioned that :)

I don't mind that so much if I'm getting a bit of a reaction.

What I do find boring is playing to the last dozen or so people who aren't dancing and you're getting no reaction from them at all.

Yawn...

The Timewarp was first out in 1973, when the Original London Cast LP Version of the Rocky Horror Show was released, the film soundtrack came out in 1975/6 (Just being pedantic) :)

Explaining (yawn) to punters that if I turn up for an hour or two its the same price as a whole evening because I am then turning away other jobs where I would get paid full whack ( yawn) instead of half whack (yawn)

Perhaps I should make a recorded message and say--just listen to this :teeth:

Sat waiting for wedding receptons to finish (as they've overrun by 2 hours) then having to rush to set the room up. (with lots of glaring guests who think i've just turned even though i was early)

I'd agree 100% with that, and I've had lot that have over ran this year.

I think the most boring thing to do with disco's for me has to be the paperwork. Disk index album index, tax incoming expenses. Need a secretary lol
But I definatly agree with the wait before a wedding reception.
Bring on the buffet.
