I have a silver anniversary coming up this Saturday, is there anything unusual about these events that i should be aware of?

nothing worse than a wedding they get a first dance if they want it but in general is a celebration party like any other may get a cutting of the cake thing again and a lot of pats on the back for lasting so long LOL

I would make sure you know( if you dont already ) what music is needed.

Dont second guess---fatal mistake :sad:

Few of the usual party suspects like Congratulations etc should be fine.

Wide range of ages probably to cater for.

The main thing will be the types of music (artists/tracks, etc) that they do and don't want.

Also age range of guests and number of people always helps.

Organised a suprise silver anniversary for my parents, didn't DJ as would have been FAR to much to do.......and wanted to have a drink!! :beer:

As it was a suprise we got the DJ to play background music for a bit longer than normal so my parents could get round everybody. Then had the food. Then had the cutting of the cake & speeches. A few mins after the speeches it went straight into the disco. Unfortunately as it was a suprise I couldn't find out the song they had their first dance to. :sad: Had loads of people (inc the DJ) asking when is the first dance, what song is it etc. So I think the DJ ended up with going for one of their favourites instead.

I would recommend starting off with the first dance song (from their wedding) - a nice way to begin! The music was left upto the DJ as I had too much to do, he had lots of people saying how good he was. He was only a stand in guy at the venue I hired and was about 18 years old. The music was mainly 60s & 70s with a few modern tracks and classic party/cheese. You can't really go wrong with a bit of everything, in my opinion.
