K12s and Mackie Sub

Morning everyone. Just a quick question.

This week if all goes to plan, I should be picking up a pair of K 12s.

I have been hiring in a Mackie 1501 sub for larger gigs and just wanted to make sure the mackie sub would run ok with the K12s?

I've used Mackie 1501s with several other brands of powered top speakers without issues, but never with K12s, I can't think of any reason they would not work together though.

If you have the budget, then go for the RCF705 AS. I've had both and the RCF is more reliable, efficient and better sounding IMO.

ive a pair of k10's and run them with a k sub?

though i recently acquired a mackie sw1501 and they run fine with it

i run with thw mackie mixer mackie high out tops as you get the frequencies not acheivable by the mackie sent to the k10"s

though when i run with the k sub i run mixer k10's then k sub as the sub is band pass and the crossovers are in the tops thats why they have the external sub setting on the k10 as they then route the bass out the other xlr

but the answer to the op question it will run fine

It doesn't make any difference which way you go. If you come out of the tops, make sure they are switched to ext sub and if you come out of the sub, and want to use the crossover, then make sure you come out of the high pass out sockets.

Just looked at the spec for the 705, it weighs 37kg:eek:
I have a slight back prob so was looking for something lighter. Someone suggested the RCF 902, which seems to be sitting just under 30kg.
I know the 705 should sound better, but need to think of my back :)

If I was buying again, I would go for either the 905 or 902 - I suffer with a bad bad too, but use trollies for the subs.

I heard the 902 a few months ago and it's a very good little sub. Very impressive, but then it should be for a grand!

I have the RCF 905 AS subs and i love them..I use them with rcf712 tops..
Expensive i will agree but they sound great and weight wise they are light..
