Purple DJ

I'm think of setting up a brand under this Name. I have registered most of the PurpleDJ web names, and have the virtual server sitting waiting.

I was going to buy a purple Dinner Jacket etc, and work on the concept of Purple DJ Professionals.

Before I proceed, anyone got any thoughts or opinion (or p1$$takes)

Seriously, sounds like a good idea. Though not too sure about the Purple Dinner Jacket, a bit cheesy in my humble opinion. A purple corporate logo and theme would work - it's catchy, I'll give you that, certainly rememberable.

I agree. Just hearing the name itself has tweaked my interest in knowing more. It's intruiging. It all depends on the market you're going after though.

Sounds good a nice concept, you can always branch out and have a red DJ a blue DJ etc.

I'm inclined to agree with Alex here. How ever, I myself don't do the penguin look for a formal do, there are plenty of formal dress shops that you could get purple dress shirts or bow ties from (I wear a black dinner suit & dress shirt with either a maroon or silver/grey tie).

The other thing is certain regions/cultures view purple as a funeral colour, so it may be a bit of a stumbling block for you with certain people.

Dunno, it just came to me. I use the name Murrough (which is my real name by the way) and although its great for those who have heard of me (I had a website just for web presence in this respect), it obvious that Murrough does not work as a brand, hence a parrallel web site approach.

As I researched it for usability, I found this Site (http://www.purplestore.com) and when I looked at the different purples, with the right mix of colour and content, I believe the 'Cheese' affect as you all detected, could give way to a highly professional effect, during the first couple of frames of web experience.

Based on your other comments about the catchiness and what I say above, then i believe it could work well.

More Mauve though really ;) Only joking. Good luck with it, I think it could be a profitable enterprise. I'll be interested to know what your website will look like, you must unveil it when it is complete! Still think Ribena could work though, or even Vimto.

There is already a company called Purple Productions out there who supply DJs as well as other event stuff - not sure if that would affect anything?
