Hi i have not bought any effect lighting for some time but need an effets light for the dance floor. I already have an impossiled which will be aimed up and the new one down.
whats the best one then - or are they all the same?
I saw one the other day that looked like jelly fish by chauvet, but one thats a bit more dynamic would be the best. :)
Revo4, matrix etc. etc.
Might have a butchers at BPM tbh. :) Anything to look out for?

I bought a pair of Revo III's off Funkymook a while back and they are great on the dancefloor.

I think the 4 is the way to go. for £150 its a no brainer for the efect and spead of lighting. The impossiled is a good filler but not a very effective effect light.

Fair enough. I preferred the Revo III's because I didn't like the 'lines' on the Revo 4's. The spread on both is good.

I have a American DJ Revo 4 and it looks fantastic on the videos, but as soon as you get it, you will be disappointed.
I was when I got mine, the spread isn't as big as it makes out on the video and the patterns are good, but not as good as the Revo 3/Impossibled. It's also not as bright as the impossibled/revo 4.

Cool. Not quite with you - so which one do I go for then :D
Is it the chauvet that looks like jelly fish?

Well Toby, you asked about a Revo type light and that's two of us that have said about the Revo III.
That means you will probably go for something else!

Glad you're getting good use out of them Gary. They give great coverage - a pair will fill most venues.
Have you had a look at the Chauvet 4 Play Toby? Maybe the different mounting options would work for you (can be used on speaker stands).

I have a pair of REVO III's that have served me well but one has just started to fall apart so I am replacing them with a pair of the Quad Phase lights which I really like:

Might be worth a look if you are heading to BPM, they retail for £170 - £180 I think. :)

The bar takes up a bit too much space for my liking. I am a cheapskate when it comes to space efficiency. :)
The lasers have been great at adding dynamics but a dynamic filler is what's needed for the main dancefloor area.
Nothing under the size of an impossiled an option.

Those videos really need to be produced for a club environment, a party environment and then with no smoke.
We were talking about that in the SC NADJ meeting as they can be a bit misleading.
I did have two triphase - one now. Are they almost the same thing?
Great light for adding dynamics to a dancefloor and at the same time a nice slow meander.
