Anyone own one?
What are your thoughts on it?
Can you add an overhead if necessary?
Can you use it with just one shelf?
I use my car for DJing so need something compact that looks good and my entire playout fits in a 19" mixer case so this might be ideal, albeit quite expensive :(

I've got one that I use very occasionally. You can add an overhead, but I wouldn't put too much weight on it and probably only a couple of lights.

I've never used a shelf, I just put my MC6000 case straight onto the cross pieces and use a Citronic laptop shelf thingy.

I bought one of the Ultimax front bar and cloth ensembles and it looks OK.

I was thinking a single EFX500 or possibly a decent LED fixture (if I can find one)

Does it use the standard ultimax poles, assuming you buy the additional bits to fix them to the stand? (overhead lighting bracket). TBH it might be better to use a winch stand unless space is severely limited.

Not sure what you mean here. Isn't there a cloth made for the DSB Micro ?

I really like it - no complaints
Yes an overhead can be added, I used to use the standard ultimax poles an crossbar. It does get a little unstable with a heavy load. If you're used to using a lot of lighting effects you would be better with an micro ultimax.

I have got a DSB micro too...

I'm torn at the moment. Basically I want less kit to carry in and out and reduced setup times whilst improving the look of my show. This not only benefit me (lazy git), but also the customer.

I have the ultimax 1.2 at the moment, but I reckon it takes +20 mins per gig compared to if I just put in an X stand (keyboard) and a light stand.
I can however put my sub under the ultimax for a clean look.

The idea was to get a DSB or DSB Micro so that I can still put the sub under but reduce setup times because the DSB looks very quick to put up.
