Just in case you didn't know, Google Analytics will be showing real time stats soon. You can get early access by filling out this form:

Marc as we would like to track activity on my sons new website how do we go about this?

Do we have to sign up to Google Analytics somewehere else as the link talks about ---what email address do you sign in with?:confused:

We dont do that ( yet)

Also is this the best way to follow stats on web sites?

You sign up at http://www.google.com/analytics/. You need a Google account first (https://accounts.google.com/NewAccount if you haven't got one).
