NORTH EAST SPEAKER MEET - Sunday 30th October

NADJ - North East & Cumbria are hosting a speaker meet a our normal meeting venue

The Coachman Hotel
Victoria Road
Darlington
DL1 5JJ

Sunday 30th October,2011


Doors provisionally open from 12 lunchtime and expected close around 5pm

DJ's and Retailers alike are requested to bring along their sound systems large or small, budget or high end to audition against each other.

There will also be retailer tables, second hand table etc

Due to some space restrictions and the interests of variety, please "prebook" your setup in with either

I was torn between listening to speakers, or watching the F1 with a few beers....

It was a good meet but not many people turned up.
there should be some pics getting put up on the forum from Paul supersounds.
He was about to take some pics and i said paul you carn't take pics you haven't got your braces on then he pulled his shirt to one side and he had them under his shirt as if by magic.

Sorry it was a bit far for me...prob about 180 miles.

It would be interesting to hear what you listened to and opinions etc.

I have attended a few of these type things in the past and always found them useful as well as a good social.

Why are these things always in Darlo?

This is a question often asked and was given a great deal of consideration before setting up the North East & Cumbria NADJ branch.

We held many social nights before setting up the branch in the North and South of the area. The results for this were that events held in the south of the area were better attended. Also when events were held in the north of the area it was people travelling from the south who helped boost numbers.

We also expanded from North East to 'North East and Cumbria' as it was brought to our attention that there was no NADJ branch close to Cumbria.

Within the region Darlington is accessible within about 2 hours from most, if not all destinations, with a large majority having a travelling time of less than an hour. Darlington is easily accessible from Cumbria via the A66 giving great access from anyone wishing to attend from Cumbria.

Another plus point was the great knowledge Andy (Aksents) has of the Darlington area and ability to source a fantastic venue for no charge. During our social evenings no-one else came forward with the confidence to source such a venue.

We still hold occasional social evenings, the last one being up in Newcastle, and if anyone wishes to hold a social event they are welcome too and we will do everything to help make it a success. These events are not just NADJ related, we simply started off as a few like minded DJ's getting together and quickly developed to a recognised branch of the NADJ.

I think that a lot of dj's out there are frightened to attend because the think that their going to be hounded into joining the Nadj but that is not the case i have been going for months and i am not a member yet.
There is a lot you can learn from attending meets like this not only for the networking but there also might be some tips you can pick up.
There is always a good selection of second hand items on the table and there might be something that might interest you.
And people like the two Andy's and Chris work hard to put on the meets like the next meet Lanta are going to be demoing products and other manufactures are already booked and on the night they offer good discounts on some products.
The Yorkshire meets are always well attended ( and they have to put up with Simon Asquith lol ) so why can we not have a better attendance i mean its only once every 2 month where as the Yorkshire one is every month

May I echo everything that Shaun ( Flatliners ) said. I don't get to either of the meetings as often as I would like, but they are well worth attending, and many thanks to all the folk who put time and effort into organising them.
