Anyone seen this type of approach below---sounds too good to be true eh?

I would mention this site features lower in natural rankings on Google searches than other sites we run--I would have thought if anyone wanted publicity they would look at a top ranking site?

No doubt remuneration would be on number of click throughs which might be difficult to validate.

Dear Site Owner,

I recently came across your website and believe we may share similar interests.
My client (well-respected TV and satellite provider) is interested in purchasing advertising (1 hypertext link) on your website and would very much like to
discuss this possibility with you.

Please contact me at your earliest convenience so we may explore our options.

Forget that and put a link to the site from here and vice verser.

You currently have no link and a hell of allot of posts!

That would be the most effective way to boost the site performance.
Just stick a link on every page and it will link into you 7000 + posts.
Its also a related business forum and it will tell that from the URL.

First impression - it screams scam! It's generic so the same email can be sent to millions of people. Bin it. And have a read about email scams because if you have to ask about this one you are a prime candidate to be suckered by a more sophisticated one.

I keep getting people fill out my contact form with random letters, they do put a real email address but I'm guessing they close it after spamming people. So far this week I've had emails from 'Joseph' & 'Trinity', they put a URL in the comments box, which I'm guessing is for tablets or 'make money while you sleep' sites.

'make money while you sleep'.

Nothing wrong with that I had a text from Barclays this morning at 7am and I am £700 richer than yersterday - needless to say I had a lie in :p

Standard hoax crap. I get halifax, Paypal and the like all the time.

I have set up a max min text alert thing so i can see what's going in and out.

I wish i could set it to after 10am as it always wakes me up :D

It makes me laugh when I get those, considering I'm in Ireland & would have no use for a UK bank account. Or telling me I'm due a tax rebate from UK tax office !

I know it screams scam but not seen this approach before.

Just asking if anybody else has.

Clearly not so far.

Suckered--nope not yet;)
