just a quick question

when useing Virtual DJ do you have your music on a external hard drive and have it default so it wen searching in the programe it just serches the external hard drive not the computer .or do you just oparate it from your computer with out the extenal hard drive

cause i am in a argument with my dad he said all the djs do this but i said no they dont cause when i use virtual dj in the past and i used an extenal hard drive( before it broke but i manged to save the data) . i cut and pasted all the songs on the hard drive and when it was searching on the progame i would get duplicate songs from were the oringanal song had been on the computer desktop and it wouldent play cause it say mp3 error on it

I use an external HD. I click on 'My Computer' and find the drive and work from that. I only use VDJ as a backup system or if I haven't had time to update the Denon and the tracks are on the external HD.

VDJ has it's own library - similar to any Media player out there (Windows Media Player, iTunes, etc)

Once you've initially scanned your specific drive VDJ will build up a database of all your tracks (Artist, Title, Genre, BPM, Length and importantly - Location of each track)

If you start moving your tracks around (not advisable tbh) it's important you 'clean' the database after doing so. This is done from the Config menu.

If you dont, as you said - you'll end up with duplicate entries.
