Ok guys,

No joke, but I have just had confirmation that I've got an Audition to be on the new BBC show, The Voice.

Similar to the american version!

I now have 6 weeks to prep a few audition songs! It's been advised to have 2 or 3 songs prepared!

Now, I know hardly any of you have heard me sing! But thats not a problem... what I need is some suggestions for songs I can sing at the audition!
All songs I sing will have my own spin put on them anyway... but this is the bit I sit and struggle with... picking the songs in the first place!

So.... any sensible suggestions??

Great news! What sort of style do you sing? Do you have a gerat belting voice to hit big notes?

A couple good ones that spring to mind are

The Calling - Wherever you will go
U2 - With or without you

Now, I know hardly any of you have heard me sing! Depends if they were in Reflex after BPM, doesn't it? :p

Actually, I commented to Steve the following day about you having a good voice, and he agreed, so good luck! :luck:

Have you any recordings/mp3s you could post up here - might help us to come up with suggestions to suit your style.

I suspect they had far more singers than places in the judges teams, as how would they know how manys no's there were going to be in advance, and a whole bundle would not have got the chance to sing at all.

Mark... unfortunately I didn't make it to the blind auditions :(

I sang Paloma Faith - New York... with my own twist to it.

The auditions were done in groups of 10 people at a time, the other 9 actually tried to argue the case for me, they all said to the judges (when the decision was made ) that I should have at least gone through! But the choice was final.

Hey ho... I'm kind of glad I didn't get picked at the initial audition... as shortly after the auditions, I found out some interesting information about the "audition" process and how people were really picked!

Unfortunately I'm not allowed to discuss it publicly yet, but I'll be able to reveal more information in a few weeks time ( once the program finishes airing )

Unfortunately so... I was made to sign a NDA and many other forms at the auditions.
