My site - your opinions - phase two!

OK guys thanks to those you reveiewed and made comments last time on my website.

I have taken people's comments on board and have now produced this as a sample of what things might be like to come...

This is what I have done

Removed the nightclub pic,
Removed the vocal introduction
Changed the type face.
compacted the menu items.
Changed the wording with some inspiration from other members sites! ::D
Added some "real" photos of my gigs.

(Sorry Vectis, can't get my head around rebuilding the site with div tags at the moment, so will have to stick to old fashioned table layout for the time being!)

Please let me know what you all think - as always good and bad are appriciated!

Like the logo. Menu looks better, I would just center the two that go over the two lines or make the page width a bit bigger so it's all on one line.

Like the photo's on the side, do you have any testimonials from those particular clients? Would be good to see the picture then a snippet of the letter/email next to it.

Assume you'll be getting rid of the large black areas?

Apart from only the index loading it looks much better. :)
I would put a big image chager where all those small pics are.

I still think you should hire a pro to do it.
You may be "doing it for free" but thats just false economy as you will loose bookings "money" with your site compared to a £2-300 website.

If you do the master of ceremony thing too clients will be more impressed.

All the best sites I have seen just use imagery - have a look at these examples - all people who make lots of money!
Ignore the audio on the jagskilmax one - he is a semi celeb so can get away with it :D

I seriously wanted to put an image changer or slide show in here, but the only three way of doing this are a) Flash, which doesn't support Iphone/Ipad, b) fireworks, which I don't have, and c) jquerys, which I cannot get my head around. Any ideas on this one Toby?

Look into animated gifs but watch what colours your using.
I think there is a new option for this but worth asking someone who knows what they are doing like vectis.

I am not a web designer and I have paid people to program and add content to all of my websites which has cost 1,000's of pounds but paid dividends many times over. :) My turn over is now ten times what it was and its all down to web design and web presence as I do not advertise anywhere else other than my website on google.

I am however a graphic designer so have an eye for what looks good but that has taken years of producing flyers etc. and not something learnt overnight unfortunately. Even so I still get web design people to help me, as I am not the all seing eye and crap at the technical side of things - such as image viewer programming etc.

Having said that the site looks allot better than most of what is out there so well done :)
