Just checked my spare DMIX 300 which I use as a backup to make sure all was well with it and it isn't.

Upon switching it on, the text display area is illuminated but blank (it should invite you to insert device upon powering it) and when I put the IPOD in the dock, the IPOD screen should read "Connected" and it doesn't.

Also, once switched on, you can't switch it off without pulling the power source out the back i.e the on/off button is ineffective.

Any idea's on how to return it to it's normal good humour?

I suspect you probably need to apply the usual trick which works with the Cortex's. Press the power button 15 times after you've turned it on, or alternatively hold it down for 10seconds. This does a cold reset of the controller.

It's a known problem with the HDC series of controllers and a lot of them won't boot without you doing it.

Worked a treat! Thanks mate.............I take Cortex are just notoriously temperamental then?
