as im not working this Saturday, i was happy to receive a call on thursday afternoon, from a lady who'd been let down for a charity event.
as it was a charity event, and it was last minute, i offered her a much lower price than i normally would and she seemed happy enough, but she ended the conversation with 'ive got one more DJ to speak to, i'll get back to you'
then later on thursday evening i got a call from another DJ who wondered if i could cover his karaoke night, as he'd been booked to cover the same charity night. His offer to me was £100 working from 8pm to 11.30pm. Can you guess what i said??
The DJ in question is a foul mouthed idiot who uses the cheapest of gear, and ive had to step in for a few times in the past when he hasnt turned up.
Needless to say, im still not working this Saturday, but it wont surprize me if the phone goes at 7.30pm, when he hasnt turned up to the charity gig.
