Trying to get this Warwickshire Wedding DJ site up and running and thought I would have a go at doing a promo video. It turns out for weddings I have lots of really bad footage shot from behind the decks mostly, so it was the case of making the best of a bad job.

Anyhow, i've had a bit of fun and it is turned out and meant as a slightly tongue in cheek promo video because I don't have anything professional to work with.

Here it is.

Constructive criticism, thoughts, should I use it or bin it :D

I liked it too ! Thing is a professionally made video is all well and good, but people see them and know it, yours is raw, candid even. It shows you don't mind if it's not a professional job, it shows people having fun, you DJ skills and what you really offer 'in the flesh' so to speak. Well done and hope it works, it's different

That was my thoughts too, great little video, but I fear it might put some of the clients you are trying to reach off.

Not sure about that though lol

Thanks for the positive comments guys. I wasn't expecting such a good reaction to be honest as it is like a badly shot home video :D

Dave, I take your point. I want to leave him in definitely, but I need to find the right words. I've already tweaked the length of the clip down as it dragged ever so slightly.

Raw, definitely :) candid, yes, but I hope not too intrusive. The couple is in the first clip is actually my sister and her husband, but I don't they are indentifyable (sp). The girl doing the funky moves is my sisters friend and considering how hard I worked that day as a favour I think she owes me 10 seconds of footage lol :D

That's the risk isn't it. To video or not video. Interesting thing is that I actually bagged 2 good weddings off my old Wired For Sound site by having Chesney Hawkes top on the music list ... figure that!!

I'm going to tweak and await further feedback, but I think it is most definitely going to get used.

Got a bit of feedback off the wife. She didn't like it!

Said it was too indie and you couldn't see the dancing because of the white banner. Making a few subtle changes ....

I agree with the white banner comment but not the "It's too Indie.." one. I think that's a good thing because it shows potential customers that think it's all about the 'usual' stuff that it isn't and you really can get the music that you want.

Ok, 'I Predict A Riot' and 'Mr Brightside' are pretty much standard now (in my sets anyway) but I guess a few people don't know that.

I watched it to the end aswell and I don't often do that with videos posted on here. Some of them I don't even bother looking at.

in the end I changed it a bit, but kept the fundamental feel of it. Hope you guys still like it.
