Has anyone found a bag of a suitable size for a single 1m megabar?
If not, what are you using to transport / how are you transporting yours?

I went to Staples and got one of those plastic boxes and I have 4 of the megabars. The box is around the right size for them and their IEC cables and they hardly move about.

Is that all 4 in together, Gary? (Sorry if I've misread your post, but I think that's what you're saying)
I can find bags that will take 2 or more, but there are occasions that we just want a single one taken to an event for up-lighting behind, so it's transportation of a single unit that I'm particularly interested in. Thanks anyway.

Granted, It holds 2 units - Simply take one as a backup :-)
It's not that much more space.

Didn't any of the Cobra cases fit the bill? (assume you saw the whole range when you visited Terralec).
I've got a pair of these that I use for my mini parbars

at only £14.00 they're great value.
I've bought a few Cobra cases and been very happy with all of them.

That's the closest, but 1 still rattles around in there as it will easily fit 2, so at the moment it's looking like one of them, or one of their stand bags (which aren't padded) - plus a fair amount of packing to go with it. I was just wondering if anyone else had found a better solution for transportation of a single unit.
At this point, I think we have the entire Cobra range!!!!! Great value, although the zips are a bit dodgy on the longer ones.

Angela, I think I read on here that someone uses speaker stand bags.
I am afraid I still use the original box. It will need to be replaced very soon.

In my experience not padded enough for these sort of items, too long and usually only open from the top.

Not sure if these are the same size or not but we have just had custom made a flight case which holds 10 of our 1m Showtec batons with all necessary cables, it's arriving on Thursday so can get you a picture if you want. Looking at £300 + the vat for he case but well worth it IMHO.

I bought a 'padded' bag for mine from Terralec and when it turned up it wasn't padded at all! Having said that, it has actually protected it quite well.

Just had a look and can't see it. It's just a cheap bag and not very padded and it's too long (slightly), but it's done the job for the last couple of years.
I know this is for 2 x Megabars, but you could put something else in the other side - cables or similar?

Cheers Darren, but just in the last few minutes I've decided to go for this http://www.terralec.co.uk/padded_bags_and_covers/stand_bag_1095_x_155_x_155mm/28078_p.html
and this
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260878062208&fromMakeTrack=true&ssPageName=VIP:watchlink:top:en (which I can cover with some spare fabric I have lying around very easily)
Thanks to everyone who tried! :D

I know it's not helpful but this has highlighted how much you lot look after your gear. I own one flightcase for my mixer and that's about it!
