Al Bowly was around and popular in the 1940s. I have a few tunes from him including "Goodnight sweetheart" which was used on the TV show of the same name.

Great thread. I've got a 50th Wedding Anniversary next year for some friends and they have requested some stuff like this. Gives me a few ideas. :D

Another Al Bowly track to look out for, is his version of Love Is The Sweetest Thing.
Is often catalogued as The Ray Noble Orchestra featuring Al Bowly.
For the Ceilidh stuff, you can't go far wrong with Jimmy Shand.

I'm barely resisting the urge to post that it's just like a normal one, only it involves Killer Whales. :coat:

Why dont I get gigs like that---

Even got their own Ceilidh Instructor.

I know--I dont live near Scotland.

Stick with the instructions--this guy knows his guests.:beer1:

Dont worry about the Orcadian Strip the willow--they have a Caller and they will all know it--just play normal Strip the Willow music.

Its what us Sassenachs use every Saturday night because most people have no co ordination in England.

Play it LOUD ---JUST FOR ME!!!!!!
