Hi guys. I'm looking for a nice hi-fi for the house.. I'm not wanting a minisystem kind of thing..

But want somthing that's a nice sounding system that I could possibly put my mixer though when messing around at home...

But I was thinking these would lack bass? Also what amp would I need as these are 100v

Would they be any good for house audio?

Not especially.
I like B&W speakers, but it depends on what you have.
Nad do nice Amps, but have a look at the Richer Sounds website- they generally have some good deals.

100V systems arnt what you would put into a house. Its more for the long distance/ needing loads of speakers off one amp kind of thing.

the speakers have transformers fitted for operation of a 100v line system. If you remove the transformer they become normal low impedance speakers but they are only really designed for background music not for proper hifi.

50W power handling but a 87db not particularly sensitive. They do have a reasonable amount of bass for background use.

I have Monitor Audio RX speakers which give plenty of bass and a lovely laid back sound.

I really depends on your budget and whether you are talking pure stereo or maybe incorporating some AV into your kit on how this question could be answered. It's a very open question.

I will pass on the jbls then.. I've just been offered them for £100 with brackets.

What I'm after is. A decent pair of speakers. For TV to run though. Somthing for the mrs to put a CD though, and when I'm board I'd like to put my mixer into.. Somthing with decent bass and nice sounding.. At my parents house we have some 8" skytecs and a yamaha house amp. And that dose the job perfectly. Just would like slightly better though and somthing not as ugly

I put my stuff thro a CREEK 4140 amp and some Mission speakers and I must say after something like 20 years they are still going strong and sound pretty good.
