Some of you probably remember a late try last Christmas to get the Wombles to No1.

Well, this year it's official. Mike Batt has given it his blessing and there's an updated video now released. To get the maximum impact on the Xmas chart it needs to be downloaded from the 12th December but no later than the 15th. There will also be a CD available from HMV.

As with most things there's now a Facebook group for it

And here's the video ;)

I will be buying it :beer1:

As might I , if it offers any chance of preventing the latest offering from the (P)Syc(h)o stable off the top spot.

What a load of crap.

I cant wait until there is a good pice of music at christmas that represents the days of yesteryear (bing and all that)
and the warmth of being amongst family etc. instead of all this slade/wizard cheesy stuff. Buble has the right idea.

I play pougues, shakin steven, wham and maria and leave it at that.
I lost the whole dancefloor the other day every time I put on anything christmassy and I do not blame them.

Until that happens I vote the likes of killing in the name of etc.

Interesting thoughts.

Not many Chrisse tunes are that danceable --there are a few--

Although last night I did a Western Themed Xmas Party followed by a Disco I did not play one Xmas record or even get asked for one--

I did play some warm up Xmas Carols during the food;)

I suppose I should have played Slade--but hey perhaps as much as I love that tune its all too predictable--its played at every Supermarket and on Radio. TV etc-- is everyone getting tired of it all?

Strangely and maybe controversially--I always reckoned the best Xmas tune was Gary Glitter--another R and R Xmas--brilliantly simple, sing along and the
right beat--now where did it all go wrong Gary:eek:

Talking of Wombles, I always reckoned Remember your a Womble was by far their best tune at a Disco in the 70s --not least because it had a fiddle player and sounded like they were having a Yee ha party!!!!!
