What I say is true.

I work mainly in the Hotel, Golf Club sector of the market, so 'beer' DJs don't affect what I do. If people book a Hotel for their wedding and pay £15K, they are hardly likely to be booking the cheapest DJ they can find.

I still do the odd village hall or social club, as long as they are willing to pay my prices.

I'm doing a very similar gig next June. I quoted £395, but they said they had only budgetted £350 - so i met them at that. :)

You are fairly new here, so I wouldn't go throwing your weight around too much if I were you. I simply answered what you were asking. If you work the pubs and clubs you will get a certain price, and the same thing goes if you work in other areas.

You asked for a price which I gave you. I work in a certain market and don't get involved in price wars with other DJs. I have lots of local and non local collegues who work the same kind of market and I repeat, I do not get affected by people charging £80.

I wasn't being funny - I don't let beer boy DJs affect me - maybe that came over as being smug, but I'm not. I have been doing this rather a long time, so I shouldn't really be getting into that kind of thing, should I? :)

I'd have quoted around £275 - £350 for it depending on the rest of the info - As for the rig it wouldn't come into it - would just be what ever size i could fit in the marquee on the day during set-up.

I agree with Daz--you have to quote something realistic relevant to the time involved. £600 IS ONLY £60 AN HOUR excluding travelling and set up/take down.

Its probably a 15 hour day-- :omg: oh and its past 12oclock as well :teeth:

Probably breaks all the legal "rules" on working hours as well!
