You never know what is happening in other peoples lives.
A player I always liked/rated.

Gary Speed was a good player and he was dedicated to his job as well. He was also doing well managing the Welsh National Side.

R.I.P Mr Speed.

As a Leeds fan, Gary was a key member of my most favourite LUFC midfield...an absolute model professional for every club he played for and professionally at least, an accomplished and talented individual with a real managerial future ahead of him. Such a stark reminder that, despite professional success, people can still be suffering. So sad.

RIP Gary Speed

Terrible, terrible news. Really sad - suicide at such a young age.

It must really take something to do that to your family, quite possibly no-one will ever know what drove him to it. My thoughts are with his family :(

Gary Speed was great servant to Newcastle United and a vastly underated midfield player.

May God have mercy on your sweet soul.

RIP mate

Today, the world lost a sporting hero that gave his heart and soul for football - now there will undoubtedly lots of speculation as to why he gave he life. But that's not for me. As a football fan, all I can say is Gary, thanks for sharing your skills with the world (and from a fan whose team has been on the receiving end!). Now, rest in peace.

Was at the Villa v Swansea match today. And the villa fans started the round of applause. Was a moving site to see 1 clap go to 20 to the whole stadium.

Sad News RIP Gary Speed
