Fair play to Reading. A couple of mates went to the match and said we were awful. Reading totally deserved to win whether they were playing against 11 or 9.
I've nipped home whilst the guests are eating and just seen this. Not feeling too great today and have been struggling all day and this hasn't made me feel that much better.

Well our football league honeymoon period seems to be well and truly over. It's now no wins in 8 games and we're down to 17th

Probably got more chance of winning if the actual Wombles were playing for us :D

Ok, yes...I'll bite...Reading and Southampton totally deserve their positions in the league. We were in the right place but didn't take advantage of it and if we're lucky, we may go through on the play-offs but I won't hold my breath. We don't deserve to go up as we should have had this league sewn up.

What can I say? I believe in miracles!!!

However, if somebody had said 5 mins before the match started "We'll agree on a 3-3 draw and all go home now and have the rest of the day off" I'd have shook his hand and been very happily drinking in the pub by 3!!. But, we were 1-3 up and coasting - could, and should, have been more - so, to be fair, we threw two points away. Especially after the midweek FA Cup fiasco against Everton, we should have nailed it yesterday. So we threw it away again. With a little help from Ref Dowd who seems to give penalties away for fun!

Anyway, the bigger picture is that we've taken 4 points from Man City this season so we should be delighted!

To be honest, we were lucky to be 2-1 up in the first half - the game was yours.

Great result for us with Blackpool bating Saints 3-0.

I've heard a lot of hammers say that they should have had the league sewn up and it seems to me because they are the biggest team in the league that your fans are just presuming it would be easy. I disagree - it's never easy getting out of the championship.

Totally agree with that but our home form is not good whereas our away form is up there with the best, if not the best.

Great result for us with Blackpool bating Saints 3-0.

Great result for us too, it keeps us in there with an outside chance but we need to win ALL of our remaining games to even have a sniff of automatic promotion.

Unfortunately, just like a lot of clubs and fans, some of them are deluded. I never ever thought we'd have it easy as it's a lot more competitive in the Championship and anyone can beat anyone. I never presumed it would be easy but I know others did. We have the quality but it's not just coming together. When we were top we should have kicked on. We were unbeaten in 11 games but 7 of those were draws, that's 14 points dropped so just think of the position we'd be in, we'd have the league sewn up already.

As for getting out of the Championship being hard, I totally agree but we've done it before.

Will we go up? If we don't get automatic promotion then I don't think so.

Don't give it up yet chaps - anything can happen. After we (Saints) lost to Blackpool in such a woeful fashion it really puts us under pressure. Our next game is against our friends from the other end of the M27 - they have nothing to lose and winning this game will mean everything to them in the terrible position they find themselves.

If we lose that one ... I hate to think what might happen. I'll be there, so expect me to look about 110 next time you see me.

One of the three (Saints, Royals, Hammers) will be in the play-offs. Whichever one (or two) they'll not be in great form - anything can happen - that's why we love the beautiful game.

Haha! No doubt.

Good game - lots of incidents.

Leeds had a man sent off in the first 15 minutes and then proceeded to kick us all over the park rather than play football.

We had most of the possession and just could not stick it away. I really thought it was going to be a stalemate. Le Fondre was a great sub though and did the business.

We are top of the league, say, we are top of the league...

(Even if it is only for one day)

Watching Barnsley West Ham now...come on Barnsley! :D

Absolute fair play and very well deserved for Reading.
You can't knock a team that win all those games in a row and take 47 points out of 51, outstanding.

We (West Ham) mucked it up for ourselves with all the draws in a row. That cost us around 16 points which would have seen us done and dusted a couple of games ago. We will be in the play offs where our record is 50/50 but I have a feeling we'll either not make the final or if we do, it will be Birmingham and they'll do us. Apparently our return to the Premiership was a 2 season plan so we have to do it next season if it goes ****'s up this time round.

Once again, well done Reading. It looked like a great atmosphere. I was in Reading when they got promoted last time so I can imagine how you feel Darren.

Cheers Gary. I think the Hammers will also get promoted. We play Birmingham last game of the season, so that will be interesting to see how they perform.

I really hope that the new owner puts his hand in his pocket as there are one or two players that just aren't Premier League standard or are getting too old. Much as I like Ian Harte, I really can't imagine him defending against some of the leagues quickest forwards and wingers.

Wanna know something Darren?
I had been saying all week that Reading would win the game. I had no confidence in our team at all and I even had a bet with my mate whose also a Reading fan.
You deserved the win.
We didn't put our chances away and Vaz Te should really have put that header away.
The stats are misleading. Reading were easily the better team in the first half and towards the end of the 2nd half. We had a period where we could have got level and then possibly ahead but didn't take the chances.

Fair play to Reading.
