Sub 45min setup

Finally I have managed to make my setup achievable in under 45 minutes. By using some small guage trussing, some homemade brackets and an idea pinched from Brian Redd.

Sorry about the dreadful photo but I think it just about illustrates the principal. The brackets screw into the top of my Mackies, the pre-wired truss sits in the bracket and that's it. Couple that with my sub-mounted table and I was set up in 39 mins :D :D :D

Well done I have also spent time making a rig that can setup fast I will post a pic up in the gallery and show you my 20 minute rig. Ideal for those situations like weddign over runs and the last minute calls that an events DJ hasnt turned up.

My 20 min rig is my only rig :D does the job for me.
i helped a DJ past night and he had a smaller rig but we had to do ten trips!
If you can get it down to one trip have everything prewired and installed that saves loads of time.

Sounds a good idea, I hope you have an alternative set up for lower ceilings in rooms or Marquees which I have come across recently.;)

Apart from restricting light and speaker heights it can affect sound badly.

Awkward access and steps seem to cause further problems with getting
ready set ups into venues---which is why I tend to have a series of different modular set ups using separate pieces of kit--takes longer but at least I know I can get in to the venue, I get a wide variety of venues so have to be flexible.

All down to storage and minimising trips to the van.

Main thing is my lighting is all pre rigged on a tbar and stored in a big flightcase on wheels with all the other stands and bits and bobs.
All on one power input so just a case of putting it on the lighting stand and plugging it in.

I also use an active sub with satellite outs to passive tops and use everything as a booth so no spare crap lying about and only one trip (assuming the venue has not stairs). :)

so one sub (15 inch), back up 10 inch sub, two 10 inch RCF's and a small flightcase with my Vestax.

It's a larger set up to some of the 40+ min minimal rigs on here and serves its purpose.

I hate rushing - especially in a "turn the room around" situation! So finding ways to get quicker is certainly on my to do list.

Toby's set up is really quick - he's not exaggerating.

I think he was referring to my show taking 10 trips :(
I stopped using a trolly a while back because I had too many random boxes that wouldn't stack safely.
It's certainly something I'm working on.
The trips back to the Galaxy and the uplighting are the things that add time.

Your set up is one trip in, what does your rig consist of and how do you manage to get the whole lot in in one go? (well impressed!)

That was setting up slowly it can be done in 10 mins as I found out the other day when my car broke down :D

I was talking about andys mainly but you do have lots of seperates. :p
I have top thank Steve for my set up as I have pretty much duplicated his slowly without realising it.

Here is an old pic. I now only have the one powered sub, RCF's and VCI 300 flightcase so have ditched the amprack and other sub.
I usually have uplighting too which takes longer obviously.

I've also got a pre-rigged and pre-wired T bar which lives in a "semi-flight" fibre case, but it's not on wheels. It's heavy to carry and to set up, but it's certainly fast to set up.

Next plan is to think about combining playout and amps into one case, but it might need to be custom built, or at least modified a bit, because the playout isn't 19 inch.

30 pound extra and normally have a venue member of staff on hand.
I do not normally encounter stairs tbh. short flights it goes up in two manouvers.
