So come on then, we have quite a few people interested in food/cooking and a few amateur chefs, so what are you getting in/cooking/eating for the Christmas period?
I'm about to go shopping..

Not much different from last year but adding a starter of –
Prawn Cocktail or Melba toast with game pate
Standard dinner with a choice of –
Roast Duck
Turkey Crown
Pheasant
Wild boar and mushroom sausages
Pigs in blankets – don’t ask.
Brussell sprouts (sliced) fried in butter with Pancetta
Roast Parsnips with honey and butter (favourite of mine)
Red cabbage with apple and hazelnuts
....all the trimmings
Christmas pud with brandy butter
Drunken grapes – grapes in brandy topped with double whipped cream – with brown sugar on top then glazed. Bit like a crème brûlée with fruit.
Tea –
Cheese plate
Ham with honey marmalade, French mustard and cinnamon rub.
Port and brandy
Supper
Are you kidding! :D
You may think this is a bit much.....but it is Christmas and one I intend to enjoy with my family and friends.

We are eating out too. 20 of us at a nice restaurant. :)
I'll go to a deli a couple of days before Xmas day and buy some bubbly/ nibles/oysters to have on the big day with mum because she isn't eating at the restaurant.

I haven't really decided on anything tbh. Probably fairly traditional for Xmas day - turkey and trimmings, goose fat roasties, sprouts and pancetta etc
Boxing day is going to be slow roasted pork with crackling and not sure what else as yet...
I have just spent a lot of money on food and booze for the next week or two though. :o

Just me and my missus this year for Christmas Dinner. We usually go to my sisters who puts on a massive spread but we want a quiet one this year.
Not sure what we're doing as yet.
Darren, we had the 4 bird roast last year and it was lovely. Recommended!
It will be my first Christmas not seeing my Dad (for obvious reasons) so I'll be toasting to him with a large glass of Single Malt at some point.
Working Boxing Day evening so won't be going mad.

Well, Google your nearest Aldi, and nip down with a ten pound note clutched in your hot little hand. :sofa:
Pheasant Terrine for starter served with very thin slices of toast and small salad.
Main course will be Roast Turkey, Wild Goose (which I have yet to shoot) and all the usual trimmings.
I don't like Xmas pud so it will be Xmas pud for partner, her mother, brother and his mate whilst I gorge on Lemon Roullade.
No alcohol for me due to the fact my liver is shot and I am forbidden to drink.
But I am allowed cheese and there will be plenty of that throughout the day. Cornish Cracker, Brie, St. Agur, Stilton and definitely some Dorset Blue Vinney.
Oh, and the obligatory turkey sandwich in the evening with hot sausage rolls.

Unfortunately I didn't mate.
My Dad got it from somewhere but I don't know where.
4 bird roasts are usually a game bird (pheasant) inside a duck, inside a chicken inside a Turkey. As far as recipes go its not so much the cooking that's the issue (with that much different rich meat, a bit of rosemary, thyme, maybe an orange inside would do) it's the rather intricate butchery involved in de-carcassing a Turkey, a Chicken and a Duck, before wrapping it round the game bird. Unless you are super ambitious, I'd leave the bird insertion :D to a pro!

Same as most years AFAIK.
Prawn cocktail and home made soup for starters then turkey with all the trimmings and some form of trifle for dessert.
Heres hoping I dont get a call halfway through dinner asking me to cover a gig this year :S
