For those that use them. Could you help in my choice of which one to buy. I need a double-conversion with about 1500AV. This should cover the sound side of things. Any help appreciated

Something by APC.

I don't know huge amounts about them, however at the school i "tech" at we use about 8 of them. IT manager swears by them.

They wont be double conversion though.

I'm about as blonde as they Vicky Pollard when it comes to UPS', so what do you mean by double conversion? Double link to a PC, or more than one output or what?

What are you running off the UPS a computer(s) or DJ gear?

Why would any one want to use a ups to run dj gear, it wouldn't hold up very long due to the load.

Only thing it would be good for is holding amps so they can be switched off safetly without damaging speakers, or if you use a PC so that you don't have to wait for a reboot when the power comes back on.

But yeah, anything that could hold enough power to keep the whole disco running for more than a minute or so it going to cost mega bucks!

its not for the backup power, its to regulate the voltage to my gear.
What are others useing for marquee work?
