Maybe this could be a sticky?

Thought it would be cool to know let each other know what we're doing (not just gigs) for those who don't have FB.

I'll start

What songs work well with Perfect Gentleman? People danced to it so I want to play more weird stuff like that...I played a couple of the obvious ones which worked but I'm stuck.

MDD Messenger ?
It's exactly that sort of obsessive intrusion that keeps some of us well away from any social networking :(

I think historically Charlie that, although well intentioned, every time Facebook and it's ilk have overflowed into the forum, it's resulted in "tears before bedtime" ?;)

The only sticky I see for it mate is 'wicket' :)

True but that's because it was abused. Simple one liners could be quite interesting.

While I understand what you mean I often tweet from events talking about the gig, what I'm playing or even a picture of the first dance.

But that's about the gig, which presumably you do on Twitter ?.... not your innermost thoughts on the MDD forum, which is the proposed issue here :)

Twitter,Facebook or forum,it doesn't matter. You should be concentrating on your client and their guests, not networking.

I too was at a gig last night and while it's not something I usually do the guests were eating and nobody was in the same room as me so no harm done

Although I agree with you generally, I don't think it's for you to be telling others what they should or shouldn't be doing whilst working.

I have spent plenty of time on the net whilst waiting for guests to finish dinner each night.

Not quite what Charlie was doing though.I got the impression that he was playing to guests.

Not exactly telling him what he should be doing more a case of suggesting that in my opinion it is not professional and not something I would do.

Trust me, I do my fair share of going out and partying. Too much intact. It's been lovely to have a booze free week, albeit I did enjoy a bottle or two of wine last night. ;)
