Gaffa tape bargains?

After purchasing a large amount of gaffa tape a while back I'm now coming to the end of the supply and need some more.

Previously I bought from Disco World and may do the same again.

However if anyone has any recommendations or recent bargains a steer in that direction would be good. ;)

Asda, 2 quid a roll. Individually wrapped, not too sticky (but sticky enough). Does the trick.

I bought cheap once trying to save a few quid, what a bloody mess, never again. They even arrived welded together as they weren't individually wrapped.
I've used these guys on ebay the last few times, bit of a bargain I reckon, although I bet some smart cookie on here can find a better one ;)

Blue aran do a brilliant lemarx (or something) one. £3-4.

Bloody good too. non sticky, matt and tears well easy.

This thread made me realise that I need some more as I have a big job tomorrow with lots of taping down required and I have only got a couple of rolls left.
I went to Screwfix as recommended earlier in the thread and bought 5 rolls of 48 x 50 I think for £3.49 each. It looks pretty good to me. I think I will be going back there from now on.

If thats proper duct tape them it will be different to gaffa tape. You can remove gaffa tape cleanly. Duct tape you can't, it leaves a sticky residue behind.

Anyone got any links to decent gaffa tape? I bought some recently on Amazon. The first time I used it I had set up at the venue in the morning and when trying to remove the tape at the end of the night a lot of the tape and and also the glue was left on the cables (very annoying. I think someone else mentioned this recently) I tried it again for last nights wedding and this time the cables were ok but it left its mark on the wooden floored stage!
I could buy from someone like phase one but really don't want to spend close to £10 including postage.

Speak to some local hire companies. They wil be able to sell you some good stuff that wont leave your cablesin a mess

The suggestion was made earlier to try Screwfix. I have had some excellent stuff from them, but the most suitable stuff was hard to get at one point. One to Avoid is Thomanns cheap range, it sticks like a limpet! good for parcels though.

For indoor use don't use anything other than NEC approved tapes. Anything else will ruin carpets. It costs a bit but its cheaper than having to buy a new carpet!
