I shall be working at my regular hotel to a sold out dinner dance. Part of the deal as usual is that Jan and I get to sit down and eat dinner and we have a room for the night. Now if I can just get rid of this stinking cold......
Working local pub this year, sold out. My wife and friends will be there. Should be a good un.

I'm all set up for tonight and was going to try and get some kip before the gig as I've had 4 hours but it doesn't seem to be working. Got my Champagne on ice at the pub already as always.
Have a good one everyone.

Just wanted to wish all of the members a Happy new year and hopefully we'll get more work this year than in 2011.
Right I'm off to down some more of my Morrisons "on special" bitter and watch the fantastic fireworks and lighting display on the Beeb.
OOPS, nearly forgot..
Keep an eye out on the board in the next few weeks as we are launching a new company which will have a nice sub forum on here :D

Thanks Peter! And all the best to you for 2012!
Actually ive just got in and it was a Cracking gig!
Only 9 miles from home , A permanent marquee
And the Dreaded Sound Limiter to boot!
A really nice couple ( been booked 18 months)
I was doing really well as i had my Compressor-Limiter that i cant live without set brick wall to just under the venues limiter but theres must have beaten mine and i lost the juice for 15 seconds around 11.30.( i was to complacent eh?)
Amazingly no one seemed to notice it too much and the Toughbook
picked itself up in record time (For a change).
I am really not a fan of marquee wedding really.
as theyre all hated by the locals so most have VERY sensitive Sound Limiters
This one also had an earth fault on the Venues own uplighters so when the venue hit the uplighters at 6 pm that tripped out the mains ( id been warned and was allready on the back up netbook running on its own hard drive. My recently aquired Kam ( UGH) Party bar was pressed into service as the venues main lighting for the night and i must say it was very very bright (only bought it cause Craplins have knocked em down to 149 pounds )
Also the speakers were on the floor as i couldnt use the stands as the floor sloped so much!.The Dj table wasnt much better either.
Anyhow , Job done , Customer delighted ...( I DIDNT LEAVE A CARD!!):)
Night night and a happy new year Dave
