Alright guys,

Before contacting the venue I thought I'd see what your experiences of Slaley Hall in Northumberland are as I'm booked for a wedding next month in the Keilder Suite.

There's a great floor plan on their website, so I can see that Power provision isn't an issue, I'm just curious about things like:

Access for loading/unloading
Parking (I'd assume there's ample, but you never know
Use of Smoke/Haze
PLI/PAT Certification (All up to date anyway, but worth knowing if they require it)
Room Acoustics

Any other positives/negatives you can make comment on would be a great help.

Cheers in advance!

Hi Matty

He doesn't come on this forum, but if you know Colin Cook. I know he played there last year.

You could also try Chris PP Entertainments or Alan Rees. Both members of this forum

Hi I have played there a number of times recently, access isn't great but their are ussually a few large cages on wheels at the loading bay entrance that you can use. the main lift is broken (has been all last year) but their is another lift up a corridor.

as you approach the main building their's a small road off to the left marked "deliveries", that takes you to the rear of the building, you'll see rubbish bins and people smoking probably.

The loading bay is about 4 foot off the ground, park up and go in to suss out the room etc.

i usually lift my gear onto the loading bay platform then into a cage, then make my way to whatever room im in via the easiest route.

i'm pretty sure the keilder suite is the main function room, and holds upto 250 people, but sometimes they partition it off
heres some pics of the room - i did an 80's night there in the summer

Good to know!

In terms of PA size, the room seems quite large - would you recommend I take my Sub or will I get by with just the tops?

Play it safe - you can always leave it in the van if the room is partitioned off.
