Any suggestions for some half decent wind up stands.
Need 4 chrome/silver stands to hold single Martin wizards on each stand. Need them by next week too.
I have mobiltech sptek 4000's but there a bit of overkill just to mount a single wizard.

Why are the Mobiltech's overkill?

Just to big and bulky for a single light to sit on I feel. They are great stands and fairly heavy and great for supporting my trussing, ideally would like something a little smaller/lighter to mount them on and they have to be a Chrome/silver finish as specified by client (for a corporate event). My sptek's are all black.

Sorted now. I've ordered some Powerdrive stands and accessories.

Are they any lighter then? I was going to suggest them but thought they would be just as big and heavy as the Mobiltech stuff!

The MobilTech 4000s are fantastic stands, have used them for a couple of years, but at 26kg and very bulky yes definitely an overkill to mount a Wizard.
Would'nt it be great if there was a winch stand with flat legs (ie. the four legs that make a cross rather than a tripod) that didn't cost as much as a small car and weigh as much as one ....
That would get me inteested in getting some trussing. but the winch stand tripods are really wide in their stance

That's the ones I've ordered Ian. Going to pick them up Friday. I've also ordered a new Powerdrive truss mounting adaptor too and the top hat castings.
The mobiltech are really strong stands and I have had mine years.
