Hmm. Wonder if I can pre-mix my shows like that. That way the regulars at my residency would think I'm the best DJ ever and I could command a bigger fee!! ;)

I would say that is common practice, especially at a show like that

Yep, I would suspect that the show producers demanded it on a show like that.
As for the first bit, that's a little more suss.

With a household name like his, he could pretty much do anything and people would still pay to see him do it.
I would have thought at the very least, the gear would actually be turned on !

Who cares? I am a DJ and I Dont :) Its hardly pasha is it? Its some bubble gum tv show or something with people who have come to see Kelly rowland not him.
He is a producer who make millions creating pop music and I doubt any of his fans could give a stuff tbh.
It may well be a part of the contract that he does not mix as that may stuff up the performance which is worth lots of money.

Easier to concentrate on the important stuff if pre mixed, like waiving arms in the air.... or pretending to adjust stuff.....when in actual fact you are doing nothing :o

There are tonnes of videos out there like this now for all of the big DJs. When your jetting across the world doing gigs every night a pre recorded set seems like common sense in my opinion.
It turns into a show or an 'experience' and not proper djing. It is a shame and I personally would prefer to see them DJ properly.

God he must have a cue of girls to get through after each gig. For autographs of course :D
I wish I was him :p I only ever get grannies and mingers saying they had "such a lovely time". ;)
Cant complain though - probably a good thing.

:whiteflag: I didn't mean it. Just my attempt to put a smile on someone's face on this cold winter day.
They are usually very lovely :)
