A radiographer at Barts hospital has asked for your help.

She is a young asian lady and her sister is having a birthday party. They want a disco but. here's the problem, the dj should be asian and female. I only know a few male asian djs.

Can anybody give me any contacts? The sister is into Bollywood style music.

Yes and No but there is also tinge of racism with the person having to be asian as well whats wrong with just a female dj or just an asian male dj or just an asian dj times are just getting too picky customers will be asking for a 5' 3" dj next or a 45 year old dj???? where does all this PC pickyness stop A DJ is A DJ all be it this may just be a bit different, being possibility of a bollywood night its still a tad to much to ask for and if possible could prove very pricey for the customer

If I had asked for a jamacan reggae DJ I would expect to pay threw the nose for him as this is very specialist request

...although, if you specified 'white' and/or 'male', the accusations would be flying in from all angles. It's just the world we live in, still maturing and trying to adapt to culture changes.

The female part is the most necessary as it is a female's party and strict muslim so girls would need to be covered if the dj was male and not a relative, asian only because they want Bollywood style evening.

How many female djs do you know who can do an evening of Bollywood and understand the language of the clients?

I think they've been quite clever with the MOBOS as it stands for music of black origin, which could really mean anything. (I'm sure Corabar Steve will have something to say on the subject :teeth: )

I have & I will, there Should be a Heavy Metal category at the MOBOs As it can be traced back to Blues & therefore to the "negro spirituals" sung by slaves on the plantations in the USA & as such is of "Black Origin"

very true look at the likes of funky nassau just to name one MOBO is very misleading and very wrong a name for the awards but in general it is a rasist pat on the back in a sence and if we set up the whities can you imagine what would happen
