Can anyone help. I'm in a venue that have 6 stairville par 64 led cans installed on a rig that are all running sound to light.
They asked if I can get them a very basic controller that will allow preset colours, blackout and a very basic chase function. They want all the cans to do the same thing so same address setting.
I've ordered them in a showtec led operator 1 controller. I've connected it up but cannot get blue working.
The LED cans have the 8 dip switches. Dip switch one is on and 2 to 8 are off. The controller is working on most functions but I cannot get blue from it from preset or manual rgb mixing.
Anyone help?

According to the instructions with my Stairville Par 64s ALL dipswitches need to be in the OFF position in order to be controlled via DMX (although mine are the ones with 12 switches rather than 8).
Hope this helps.

Tried these with all dip switches in the off position but just goes into a random colour change. I know some had 12 switches and some 8 and I think there was a variation between them with dip switch settings.
Didn't someone on the forum had similar problems once but was running the next controller up the showtec led operator 4?

You were right. I put the lights on a desk and channel 1 does off stuff and channel 2 is red, 3 green and 4 blue.
Don't think the showtec led operator 1 is any good as its only 3 channel but red is on 1, green 2 and blue 3 and obviously as channel 4 on the cans is blue I cannot get it with that controller.

Get the LED operator 4 - this can be patched to work with any par can, or multiple types all at the same time.
Or, set all your Stairville cans to DMX channel 2 and this will line up Red with 1, Green with 2 and Blue with 3.
Still, the inbuilt patterns on the operator 1 are awful, so I'd still recomend the next model up.

Cheers Danno.
I did try it on DMX channel 2 but still did not work.
May have to send this controller back and go for the operator 4.

I would recommend this instead. I used to have the 3 channel version but this one is either 3 or 4.
They are nice little units with plenty of features for under 40 big ones :)

Thanks Larry. Seems ok but not sure that would work on the preset colours for the stairville cans.
The chauvet seems to be channel 1 red, 2 green, 3 blue and 4 white.
The cans are channel 4 blue so the presets may not be right. That's the only reason the venue want a simple controller to be able to preset colours. Can the chauvet one allow you to patch channels?

Thats a good point, you fixtures you mention are not stardard rgb controlled so this controller wont be any use to you after all. The obey 4 is pre patched and theres no way to change it unfortunately.

Ok thanks Larry was worth considering. Looks like the easiest solution for them would be the showtec led operator 4 as Danno suggested as you can patch the channels.
