Assistance please!

Got a punter wants to dry hire amp and speakers to play their laptop through, will this do the job sound card wise, or any other (cheapish) recommendations?

I used one of the above from my lappy but it was into a behringer mixer and it was fine.

Why not just give them a phono-Jack lead with a ground loop isolator and have them use their internal sound card?

Requiring them to install drivers for an external sound card just complicates things IMO.

Pete....want me to lend you the Berry soundcard you've linked to. I've one sat about doing nothing so will save you buying one.

The one you have linked to is entirely fit for purpose, assuming that they're using something like Media Monkey, iTunes, Windows Media Player, or the like, ie one stereo channel output.
If they want to be a DJ for the night with say VDJ, or equivalent programme, you'd need a twin channel card, like a DJ IO.

Yes I've got that sound card (now as my spare) - and it works fine.
