It was on the cards really wasn't it. I saw the photo of her the other day in the paper and that was the worst I have ever seen her. She went downhill rapidly. They are saying that they don't know the cause of death at the moment.

I played 'Million Dollar Bill' last night too which was requested and went down well and then saw the news when I got in. I expect loads of people will be requesting Whitney tracks over the next few weeks, months which to be honest, isn't nothing new.

Hadn't heard this news until now (well, I have just arose from the land of the sleeping!!). Very sad and another loss to the industry.

It's quite a coincidence, really, as I've only started Million Dollar Baby again this last month. I played it at a party I did and it went down really well, much better than I'd expected, so I've kept it in.

The first time I saw her live was at the DMC Convention at Peter Stringfellow’s Hippodrome which was probably in 1985 – I was actually working for Arista at the time, but I was there with many other DJ’s who witnessed a short PA by a very young girl who was tipped for greatness. I believe it was one of her first appearances, anyone else there?
