Tonight's gig

Tonight and this afternoon, I will be compering a race night/band night at a local venue.

It's a charity fundraiser for cancer research which is very close to my heart and it should be a good night. It's in a local club and I'm plugging into their Nexo system which I am looking forward to hearing.

There are 2 bands on, 'The Butterfly Collective' and 'Orange Street' who are a ska band.

It's at Sub 89 (http://www.sub89.com/) in Reading if anyone wants to pop down. £20 entrance and doors open from 4pm.

Tempting in the extreme, but sadly I have an appointment with an electric drill and a soldering iron, in preparation for next week.

It went really well. Got there at 3pm to set up (mixer and laptop only), to find that the club had had a massive leak and there was water everywhere!

Anyway, they managed to get everything dry and safe and everything working. For those technically minded, here is the FOH system and wow did it rock!

The bands sounded fantastic through it and it was 'quite' loud!!!!

We managed to raise £8K for cancer research and as I wasn't driving, I had a Guinness or 2...

Actually, all I had to do was talk as I had Lee driving the playout.

Great night, though I was knackered at the end of it!
