This is how all dubstep sounds to me.

Struggling with it.
Has anyone played anything as extreme at a wedding?

I quite liked that - reminds me of speeded up Aphex Twin.
Extreme music at weddings - haven't played dubstep, it's not what my typical clients want - but have played Mastodon, Rammstein etc and once filled the room with thick smoke, had strobes going and played Velvet Underground's Sister Ray and similar.

It might not be to everyone's taste, but surely it's our job to play what the clients want, not what we like.
I did a wedding at the end of last year for a young couple (22yrs & 24yrs), and they asked for 'some' dubstep and dnb. The hardest dubstep I played that night was probably Flux Pavillion's Bass cannon, which is considered to be very commercial on the dubstep scene.
The heaviest track I've played was at a 21st birthday last month. That was Dr P's Warbot. (I won't post a link as I will probably get shot down. It is quite extreme!!!). Like it or not people, Dubstep is the current flavour of modern music, and judging by the amount of dubstep remixes of current 'pop' tunes, I thinks it's here for a while.

Just been listening to some Slipknot remixes - dubstep has really found a home in the heavier side of the metal scene.

Dubstep gets mentioned on this forum once every few weeks - As stated before by someome its the most marmite ( love it or hate it) music there is
I do see it as the youths rebellion music at present -
With regards to weddings - Yes I have played serveral tracks but like my earlier friend these have been very young weddings - with majority of dancefloor asking for it - Dubstep works great in small doses in the righ place and can really raise a floor - Never played more than 2 tracks in a row though people do get bored with - great for mixing / using as a platform for DNB or old skool prodigy / baby d etc. But generally most people hate this music and most brides over the age of 21 would probably poke your eyes out for playing lol
