Rig Frontage, what do you use?

For the last 4 years, ive been using a starcloth as frontage for my rig. Ive never liked it, it never seems to hang very well.

I dont want to use lightboxes as i think they are old fashioned

i really like the one shown in the attached photo, but think it would be far to expensive to get made.

What do you use as a frontage, and what do you like or dislike about yours?

I made a 4ft x 4ft front from MDF, Painted it black then placed CD's on it then placed a LED Light bar at the bottom shining up at the CD's and it fits nicely into the deckstand. Customers always comment on how unusual it is and how they like it. Used it for about 3 years now

I used to use a starcloth, but also struggled to get it tight. Ended up getting a custom top frame made for my ultimax and now use a white cloth, lit in any colour.

The pic should show what I mean. If it looks creased, I just stretch it a bit more...

For years I used a black MDF sheet with a name board attached to it. Now I just use a black cloth over one of my keyboard flightcases with a led light uplighting from the bottom. Dont feel the need for anything else as it does the job.

Not too keen on that photo, me thinks it looks more like a cordened off area rather than a frontage.

I think the picture looks OK but you wouldn't able to use that if you were limited for space , I like star cloths easy to use not heavy or bulky, gives the punters something to look at before main lighting goes on.

In thinking of doing something simmiler to yours using led lights, got a few ideas in my head, perhaps using THESE (http://www.soundmastersdirect.co.uk/american-dj-accent-strip-rgb) as lighting

Nice to see some deckstand boother's in the topic :O)

Don't forget we can do custom fronts for the DSB range too from custom LED work through to laser cut panels and LED lighting behind etc - so you can have a unique booth frontage that is quick and easy to set up.

I use a 6ft Pealight S+H DJ Booth.

Superb piece of kit and looking as fresh as it did when I first got it 5 years ago.

I quite like what he is using in the picture (first post) but it looks a little too industrial for a Wedding set up IMHO. I also don't like frontages with names on (or any advertising for that matter).

Never used any type of frontage, have always, 24yrs, set up to the side and stood in the middle.
If I HAD to use a frontage I like the look of the white cloth backlit with a slow changing led tube.

We got grandad to make an mdf section that fits into the stand and added some strategic velcro on main corners with some blackout curtain for material to surround the stand.
Couple of photos attached, total cost about £15 (no labour charge :P)

I think it must be a trick of the light created by the number of shadows that are caused by the camera's flash-lights being positioned in opposite directions.
