I can't actually attribute a booking to FB but I have had clients add dance floor & uplighting after seeing the pics posted on my business page ;)

No, it wasn't even through my business page, just my profile one. A friend of a friend sent me a friend request and PM'd me. I'd posted some gig pix on my profile recently and they somehow saw them.

I'd disagree with that TBH - I'm on a few of the kent ones and it's mostly full of Brides that are after the cheapest deal, plus the sites are swamped with Sids and wannabe Sids offering 'Cheap or Cheapest Disco' - Don't know why and go back looking as I'm often just shaking my head and going 'not my market at all' - I got hacked off the other night when one prospective bride was bragging about getting a friend of a friend who DJs in a bar to DJ at her wedding for eight hours for £140. At first I suggested she may want to enquire about all the right things we normally nbang on about etc, and I got about 17 'likes' almost instantly for my comments. Other brides suggesting it may be too cheap. Anyway the post went on and on, back and forth - she ended up saying he was a professional as she would have to sign a contract - in the end I lost the will and said I hope you have a lovely night and he's everything you require, I'm not having a go at you, but what professional Dj is going to mug himself off at £17.50 an hour, not inluding setting up and breaking down time! I was fighting a total lost cause, and for what!?!

Whilst I am inclined to agree with you, I feel the big mistake is having a facebook page with only other DJ's following you - hardly the point of having a page. granted, like myself I think most people got DJ's to like their page to gain the facebook address, but really it is the public you want to follow you.

I think this is why I find twitter more beneficial. I follow a few DJ's but not many, but follow other organisations which I may benefit from and have a very wide variety of people following me (granted not many :o ).

The Mussel Club is a site I have only made a couple of posts on but has given me great links and leads, albeit mainly in the corporate market and, like linkedin is more for B2B.

Had about 3 bookings done through facebook, but always get them to fill out the enquiry form via the website so we have all the records from day 1.

Mainly from relatively close friends or work related, but one was a complete random so worth a few updates here and there.

Kinda stuck just over 100 fans though. Been like that for a good few months now. Not sure how to proceed. Any tips?
