View Full Version : HK Actor PA
I am looking to aquire a 'Big Room' PA and was thinking along the lines of a HK Actor DX system. Being a 6 box set up, I had assumed it was 2 x Subs + 2 x Mids + 2 x Highs, but on checking the specs I find it's 4 x Subs + 2 x Mid/Highs, it occured to me I already had similar boxes, i.e. 4 x Mackie SWA 1501 subs and 2 x Mackie 450V2 tops. My question is: as anyone tried the Mackies in this configuration, and if so, what was the result? Is there any reason you can think of, why it wouldn't work well?

While I haven't used the system myself I've certainly heard a similar system - although with the original SRM450s.
I'm not a fan of the 450's at the best of times but the system certainly worked very well in a large venue. The bass was superb and the tops certainly weren't getting left behind, cutting through over the bass.
