The EQ's and headroom in my current set-up aren't brilliant (Traktor going straight from either the soundcard in my 00DJ or Omni into powered speakers).

So I'd like to add a mixer into the chain to give it a bit of a boost in. But with the 00DJ and my backup (a Macbook)I have no space for a flightcased 19" unit (or an uncased one for that matter) on my stand and most 12" DJ mixers don't have 4 channels, but am considering the few that do.

But also been looking at the some of the small PA mixers available (Soundcraft notepad type) - anyone ever run anything like this in their chain? Is the quality going to be better than an equivalent priced 12" DJ mixer?

I'm also thinking it'd be handy on the odd occasion there's a singer/acoustic guitarist doing a few numbers.

Main objective is to get better EQ and give a bit more signal to the PA in a very small package.

Any ideas?

I thought I'd remembered exactly what you needed. :lightbulb:

Then when I'd found it, I realised it exceeded your budget criteria.
Ah well.

I've used this for the last 4 years with my 00DJ, and selling it, any good to you ?

That was one of the DJ mixers I was considering - but I've now got it into my head I need to cater for the occasional singer/guitarist as well. Had a few recently and it's been such a kerfuffle it's easier to offer them the option of something they can play through (and charge of course).

Blimey, why didn't you say that in the first place? In that case, you'll be needing something more like this:
