EFX 500 , stop strobing

Is there any way to stop the Martin EFX 500 from strobing with out using DMX,
If not , how does the strobe effect work? , is there a means of physically disabling it ?

i suppose you could take the shutter off, that is providing it has a separate shutter? and isn't on the end of the gobo wheel?

I'd have to check but I think the sound to light option 901 on the control calms down the strobing.
