Well unless any of the various pitfalls which are currently presenting themselves actually conspire to prevent it, I'm going cruising. :eek: An overnight trip from Hull, and a day in Amsterdam. And before any smartbottom suggests a trip to the Reeperbahn and the Wacky Baccy Cafes is in order, my Wife and my daughter are on the trip as well, so don't bother. :no: :D :D Depart late Thursday night, Friday in Amsterdam, and return to Hull early Saturday morning.

That is unless the wheels fall off. The dog appears to have become immune to its medication, and had four epileptic fits last night, so a trip to the vet is in order. After I've been in the drains for next door, which appear to have an obstruction. Should be a doddle, I mean after all, how difficult can it be to unblock a drain? :whistle: :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Sounds good. There is plenty to do, boat trips, shopping, dam square etc.

Amsterdam is probably my favourite city in the world because it has so many great bars, not the trashy Brit places that you find in every city, but quaint little drinking places with an amazing variety of Belgian Beers.

However we are led to believe that should the, now official, drought in Yorkshire continue...... that may be the nearest port to Hull in which you will be able to disembark on your return :p ;) :D :D

I did a similar thing a couple of years ago with my wife and it was a great way to spend a weekend, plenty of museums to go round if you want to see a little culture - also a couple of dodgy ones that you wouldn't want to take your wife or daughter to but certainly eye openers ;)

Well, a little update on progress. We took the Little Doggy to the vet this morning, and they took a blood test to see if we should boost her medication, as she has been on it for a long time.

Came back, and had to unblock next door's foul water system, since it runs through ours, with there being two semi detached bungalows, and we live in the "downstream" one. ;)

Suffice to say that they'd put things down it that an old system doesn't cope with at all well, and then not told anyone when it stopped working at peak efficiency.

Five hours later, and all is running well, and I smell sweet again, so I reckon I will be allowed on the Ferry. :D
