Any recommnedations on unique ways to light up trees? I have a client enquiring. She mentioned maybe twinkle/fairy lights, but is not sure what she wants really. She's open to any ideas.

Are you looking to light up the tree ? or have the tree act as a light ?

The latter, you could use Xmas outdoor lights

All options are open really. They're having a BBQ for their buffet, and right next to the BBQ area there are trees circling the area. She's looking to make the trees a focal point. She's open to all ideas whethers it's lighting up the trees, or using lights to have the trees "sparkling".

So, open to all and any suggestions.

simplest thing are colours flood illuminating all the trees - to enhance further add a breakup gobo over the top - simple easy and gives a good wow factor

a pic of a very tight budget charity gig at my scout group - only half a dozen floods used to give a back drop when people arrived....

Outdoor Christmas lights may work then, stretched around and across the branches ... the white ones work well :)

biggest problem with christmas lights apart form working at hight is time they eat it

a colour reach copy if im not mistaken - been around for years and quite expensive to hire also not very useful for up lighting having used them for several projects

Beg to differ. Uplight the side of a college with them. We used 6 of them for a fairly large section. Worked really well!

Seems a 'sure-fire' way of lighting up the trees :eek:
In case anyone thinks I'm being flippant, several years ago our next-door neighbour held a barbecue close to some 20 feet conifers. The conflagration caused by fat dripping out of meat onto the coals caught some serviettes which floated into the foliage and concluded with a three-engine call-out :o

I'd go with Chris's suggestion of the outdoor floods. Pretty cheap to buy and a great effect.

theres a slight difference between architectural lighting which is what they are for and uplighting in a garden.
