Whats better??? I know there both rubbish but what one is better than each other :omg:

Skytec. Simply because they are everywhere and if you need tech support there will always be somebody who has the same piece of kit who knows someone who can fix it!

Im having a debate on which one is better so i need some oppinions on them

you can't really tell which one is better because they both have strengths and weaknesses and also to everyones needs! :teeth:

I'd say Skytec, I own a pair, and sometimes use them for band work etc. Also had experience of Pro Sound, and their cones just seem to suffer with effeciency, where as I've experienced my 150w SkyTecs over power a 400w sound system :)

Don't ProSound use the same drivers as some of the Carlsbro stuff?? Infact some of their cabs are almost direct copies.. surely thats gotta give them the edge?

yeh i once bought a prosound amp :embarasse :embarasse and when i came it said carlsbro on the box!!! i could see no prosound lables!!!

I've tried both and i would have to say skytec is better than prosound in my experience. I had a prosound mixer had all sorts of probs ,bad faders earth hum loose 12v goosneck connecter. Had a pair of skytec speakers and I still keep them for when I need sound reinforcment for bigger venue's

Well Carlsbro are made in China as well now.. but they're a better (more expensive) brand so you'd expect quality control and components to be better...

(Plus i still own a pair of Gamma Actives so obviously i'm a bit biased... :teeth: )

I had a pair of 250 watt Skytec speakers and the horns managed to blow even though the amp was only giving it 120w. That's given me a dim view about Skytec speakers.

You'll probably find they blew because the amp clipped! Thats why you should ideally always use an amp thats higher power than the speakers..

Yeah I agree with that a 50 watt amp can blow 100 watt speakers if you let them clip. That is what you expect from all speakers if you let em clip

Have a pair of Skytec subs - compact and work ok giving extra 'bottom' when required.
